Auguste Rodin

born: Paris, France; 12 November 1840
died: Meudon, France; 17 November 1917

A sculptor. Also a man incapable of finishing anything, yet who became one of the most important artists of the period. Here are a couple of finished works.

This museum is looking for The Gates of Hell, an unfinished sculpture, which contains The Thinker.  

The net is not the best way to look at art; sculpture is even more difficult than the other arts, because the three dimensional nature of sculpture is impossible to capture. Here are some pictures of Rodin sculputres.
